Deloitte Corbet Cup and Shield Resume This Year
The Deloitte Corbet Cup and Shield tournaments have resumed this academic year with 11 teams competing this season.
This follows the success of the 2021/22 Deloitte Corbet Cup and Shield where the under-12 tournament had 125 players across the two divisions with eight teams playing against each other overall.
The league will begin with all teams playing against each other in a round-robin basis. The teams will then split into two groups with the top four teams competing for the Corbet Cup and the remaining four teams competing for the Corbet Shield.
GFA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts says: ‘We are delighted that this year, more teams will be taking part in the Deloitte Corbet Cup and Shield than before. Thanks to Deloitte’s sponsorship, we can continue supporting these children by giving them a platform to compete in a tournament.'
Partner in Audit & Assurance at Deloitte, David Becker says: ‘The Deloitte Corbet Cup and Shield are well-loved and enjoyed tournaments in the Guernsey football schedule. They have been growing immensely in popularity over the past few years, it’s great to see so many involved.
‘We are privileged to be a part of this initiative each year to encourage young islanders to take part in local football and showcase their talent.’
