Under 11 Junior Schools Muratti 2020
On Sunday 8th March, the Guernsey Under 11 Junior Schools select team will be travelling to Jersey to play their counterparts in this annual fixture.
After an unlucky 4-3 defeat on home soil last season, the squad selected by coaches Rich Sutton, Jordan Kelly and Darran James will be hoping to secure a first victory in Jersey for a number of years.
Looking ahead to the match, Head Coach, Rich Sutton commented that:
‘The Guernsey Junior Schools FA are very pleased to announced the 14 children travelling to Jersey on the 8th March to represent Guernsey in the Under 11 Muratti match. We are also very pleased to include Chloe Ingrouille in the squad as she becomes one of only 3 girls to make the squad after Maya Le Tissier and Guilia Rihoy in recent years. We hope this trend continues and more young female players come through the primary school football matches and are put forward by their schools to represent the Island.’
‘Our captain this year is Jack Sylvester an accomplished centre back from Hautes Capelles School who also plays for Vale Rec. We wish all of the players playing in Muratti matches this year the very best of luck, especially those going to Jersey to play. We hope to kick these matches off with a positive result on the 8th.’
‘Finally, we would like to thank the GFA for their support this year and look forward to further developing their partnership going forward.’
The squad selected for the match is as follows:
Bertie Beddow
Sam Bookless
Harrison Brehaut
Mattie Collivet
Dylan Graham
Chloe Ingrouille
Seb Mourant
Albie Netherton
Regan Penney
Luca Strappini
Jack Sylvester

The match is being played at Grainville Playing Field with a 12.00pm kick-off.
