Guernsey FA Response to COVID-19 - Update 3
Keeping you updated on the impact of COVID-19 on Guernsey football
The Guernsey FA continues to monitor the ongoing situation and follow the advice provided by the States of Guernsey Government. The current Government guidance remains in effect until 18th April when it will again will be reviewed. That guidance states that people should remain at home at all times, with a few minor exceptions, and continue to adhere to social distancing practices. On that basis, all formal and structured football in Guernsey remains suspended and will do so until the GFA is satisfied that the States of Guernsey guidance, along with that of the FA, permits football to resume.
Guernsey FA Chief Executive, Gary Roberts commented:
“We will continue to follow the States of Guernsey advice and work collaboratively with stakeholders, including the FA, Guernsey Sports Commission and Guernsey Football League to ensure the safety of players, volunteers, staff and the entire football community during this unprecedented time. We are actively monitoring Government advice in case the situation changes and will continue to share updates with the football community as and when information specific to football becomes available. In the meantime, we would all like to emphasise that our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19 at this time and take this opportunity to thank all of the healthcare workers and essential workers providing for the Guernsey community during this difficult time.”
