Star Trophy 2019
Guernsey will host Jersey in the 93rd edition of the annual Star Trophy inter-insular fixture on Saturday 16th March.
The match, which is being played at the Track Cycling Ground, is an opportunity for Guernsey’s Under 15 schoolboys to try and reverse recent history that has seen Jersey dominate the competition, with Guernsey winning only two of the last ten matches, and the last victory coming in 2016.
This year, the Louvre sponsored, Guernsey Under 15 squad is as follows:
Luke Elmy
Leo Foulds
Archie Drillot
Leon Russell
Ben Solway
Seb Vance
Harry Tough
Jamie Smith
Keene Domaille
Ben Acey
Brandon Wallace
Jimmy Evans
Ben Stevens
Sam Heathcote
Elliot Lock
Lukash Lee
Fin Belnavis
Gian-Luca Robilliard
Guernsey Head Coach, Mark Ingrouille, looked forward to the match when commenting;
“We are looking forward to welcoming Jersey to The Track and hopefully cause an upset in the recent trend of Jersey wins in the Star Trophy. We feel we can challenge this trend securely, especially as we are strengthened in the knowledge that four of last year’s Star Trophy/Gothia Cup squad are still with us.
The squad played really well whilst on their UK tour producing a solid performance, and ultimately winning against Southampton FC U14 academy side and battling well against Portsmouth U15’s. Along with a successful development match against Guernsey’s U16 squad recently, we feel, the players are prepared and raring to go.”
The match at The Track, kicks-off at 11.30am and entry is FREE
