Director of Volunteering appointed for Guernsey 2021

A Director of Volunteering has now been appointed for the Guernsey 2021 Natwest International Island Games. Wayne Bulpitt is well-known on the Island for his work with the Scout Movement.

Wayne said “It’s very exciting to be involved with the Island Games which are coming back to Guernsey in 2021. As we’ve seen from previous Games, and at the recent Commonwealth Games, the volunteers or ‘games makers’ play a vital role in the planning and running of a successful event. We will be looking at getting together a large team of volunteers who will be working on all aspects of the Guernsey Games. “Although we are three years away from the Games, we are already asking for people to register their interest in volunteering, In particular, we are currently looking to appoint two important positions – Medal Ceremony Co-ordinator and Secretary to the Organising Committee. We have set-up a volunteers page at guernsey2021.gg with further details.”

Dame Mary Perkins, Chair of the Guernsey 2021 organising committee added “I’m delighted that Wayne is part of our organising team. The volunteers will play an essential role in making the 2021 games the friendliest of events and showing everyone a real Guernsey welcome. Being part of our volunteers team is a great way for people to be involved in the Games.”
