Sure and Victoria Park kick off three-year technology partnership

Victoria Park is pleased to announce a new three-year technology partnership with Sure, with the telecoms and IT specialist powering the connectivity at Guernsey’s new home of football.

Sure is providing Hyperfast Fibre and top-of-the-range free Wi-Fi for players and spectators to share live game updates, upload to social media and video call friends.
The stadium, the new headquarters for Guernsey FA, will officially open on Saturday 29 March, when Guernsey FC’s men’s team will play Woking’s Westfield FC for the first-ever match to be played at Victoria Park.

Women’s football will then be at the heart of celebrations on Sunday 30 March when the stadium will host a Girls’ Community Football Festival to encourage young women and girls to get involved in the sport, which is part of the wider ‘Community’ partnership between Sure and Guernsey FA that supports football delivery across island schools. The Girls Community Festival will be followed up by Victoria Park’s inaugural 4v4 football festival, concluding a bumper weekend of sport at the Guernsey’s new home of football.
Sure’s Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Fawkner-Corbett, said: “We know how integral sport is to our community, so we are honoured to be a part of the delivery of Guernsey’s landmark new sporting venue.

“By providing the technology for Victoria Park, we hope to have a positive impact on islanders’ experience of football at the stadium and help spectators and players alike feel more connected through sport.”

Guernsey Football Association CEO Gary Roberts said:
“The opening of Victoria Park has been long anticipated, and the schedule of events over the weekend reflects how the facility will be available for all of the football community. Sure’s support as Technology partner means that all who attend the stadium can share their experiences in real-time. We are grateful for their valuable contribution to island football.”
